Pretend you had a heart attack today

If you’ve watched any of the prior videos, you’ve picked up on the fact that my dad was a legend in the insurance business, constantly giving out life insurance advice. He was always up on stage, and that’s where he loved to be. He would answer all the familiar questions you may have had yourself, like “How much life insurance should I get?” “What to do when a loved one dies?” “What are the different kinds of life insurance and how do I choose?” Every presentation he did, some way, somehow he’d weave in this one line, “I want you to pretend you had a heart attack today.” But this time, when he said it, he fell to the floor. Initially, the audience thought it was a dramatic addition to his performance. However, my dad wasn’t adding drama. And soon enough, as the crowd realized he wasn’t acting — help was called. As it turns out, it wasn’t a heart attack that day; but it was a precursor to an eventual heart attack.

With all the discrimination and exclusions happening today, Earth has one club that lets everyone in, with admissions guaranteed and mandatory. The when, the where, or the how you’ll get in is unpredictable. But regardless of income, education, looks, age, or gender — we all get in. So as my dad often said, I want you to pretend you had a heart attack today.
