Lori Friedman

Founder

Daughter to Sid and Sue Friedman, Lori was predestined for the insurance biz, whether she wanted it or not. Before she tried it though, her father told her, “If you want to work here, you need to go and get your ass kicked somewhere else first.” To which she replied, “Don’t worry Dad, I don’t want to sell insurance.” Soon, however, Lori’s dalliance with selling fax machines ran out of paper, she embraced her calling, and joined her father’s agency.

After a year as an agent, Lori realized she was better suited for the wholesale brokerage side. So she and three others built the brokerage agency Innovative Underwriters, taking it from three to over 35 employees, eventually selling the company to The Guardian Life Insurance Company, where she stayed on as President and CEO for nearly a decade.

After a short break, she and her BFF opened a sales office for the friendly competitor Ash Brokerage where Lori served as Managing Director for several years before retiring.

Along the way, Lori has been a qualifying member of the Million Dollar Round Table, been a member and main speaker for Top of the Table, completed advanced courses for Life Underwriter Training Council Fellow, attended the MDRT Fast Track Institute, and ran her father’s two businesses on top of her own. During her 25+ years in the insurance brokerage industry, she has seen and heard it all.

Lately, Lori has been volunteering at the local high school, helping individuals and businesses with consulting work, and spending time with her sister, nephew, friends, pets, and a former client who just happens to be her husband (another insurance pro).

But just when you think Lori’s done with insurance, along comes another venture. This newest one — the Love Policy — will educate underserved markets ignored by the industry. After all, every person deserves the opportunity to create a lasting family legacy.
